A meditation-retreat offers the rare chance to bring oneself into an optimal state of mind and body. One will return to everyday life refreshed with more resilience and hopefully with important insights and revelations.
Specifically this happens through the possibility of reactivating “dormant” networks of the brain and thereby regaining and increasing the Cognitive Reserve that had already been lost. Additionally a meditation-retreat is the best setting to increase one’s mental-power.
What is Mental-Power?
It is one of the phylogenetic youngest mind-functions (along with mental-focus, mental-sharpness, mental-creativity and mental-dexterity).
It is a complex ability which consists of:
1) resilience (the ability to endure difficulty),
2) the scope or amount of attention that a person can apply to every task they do
3) willpower and cognitive endurance, which is crucial for cognitive efficiency in all respects.
If mental-power is used frequently in everyday life, it is retained to a high degree. However if it is not used regularly, it will diminish without the person noticing its decline.
Inadequate mental-power is manifested by poor performance, poor motivation and the tendency to stay in one’s own comfort-zone as much as possible.
The main focus of the meditation-retreat is the practice of the Noble Silence.
The Noble Silence is a practice of renunciation:
No talking, no body-language, no eye-contact, no reading. no writing, no electronic devices such as smart-phones or computers, no books, no inner mental-dialogue.
Milenko will serve as a contact person and support for all participants in case any kind of problem arises. Each participant is encouraged to practice the Noble Silence to the best of their abilities. Of course, perfection is not expected.
Everday begins at 6:30 am with an hour of Hatha-Yoga.
Breakfast is at 8:00 am.
At 9:30 am there will be a block of meditation. It will last for 3 hours and includes sitting- and walking-meditations of varying durations.
After lunch at 12:30 there will be a sufficient lunch break.
In the afternoon at 3:30 pm starts another 3hour block of meditation. Again sitting- and walking-meditations of varying durations.
Dinner starts at 6:30 pm.
At 8:00 pm there will be an evening-lecture by Milenko, which is followed by a Q&A.
In all the meantimes there is space for rest and sleep, which are important components for improving mental-functions.
